Temple workers will gather for their annual Christmas Social to be held at the Cebu City Phils Stake Center, Temple Complex on December 9, 2013 @ 3PM-5:30PM. This is an annual gathering of workers who contributed among themselves to celebrate the birth of the Jesus Christ.

Nativity 2013

The Nativity is now set up! The nativity has been eagerly waited  by everyone as it provides a beautiful spot to have a picture taken. Having the Temple at the background gives more meaning to the viewer. The Meetinghouse Facility Group make sure that the Nativity is already in place at the start of the Christmas month. Members and visitors alike could easily find the Nativity enhances their visit in the Temple to become more meaningful and memorable during the yuletide.

2013 Temple Christmas Devotional

The 2013 Temple Christmas Devotional of the Cebu City Philippines Temple is set on Sunday, December 1, 2013 5:30 PM-7:00PM at the Cebu City Stake Center, Temple Complex.  This annual event is attended by the Full time Temple missionaries, Volunteer Temple workers and Temple Staff with their families. The Temple Presidency will provide the messages.

Transient Bishop

Joseph R. Gimena was being designated as the transient Bishop, tasked to facilitate members coming from the areas devastated by Supertyphoon who are evacuating in Cebu. The coordination on their needs and accomodations with the local leaders and communities are some of his responsibilities aside from the spiritual aspect. Joseph was a former Bishop of the Capitol Ward, Cebu Central Stake and now reside with his family in Lapulapu City.He works as an assistant to the Temple Engineer.

Mormon Helping Hands Temple Missionaries

When calamity strikes, the Temple complex Stake Center becomes a venue of members donning the all familiar yellow green Mormon Helping Hands vests. With the widespread devastation brought by the supertyphoon Yolanda in Central Visayas, more hands are again showing up to help in repacking goods and hygene kits intended for distribution by the LDS Charities. This time, temple service missionaries are all out in their presence along with full time missionaries of the Cebu Mission and members.

Temple Closes on Friday

As announced by the Temple Presidency to leaders, the Temple will close on Friday, November 8, 2013. They will inform the earliest should conditions will allow for the Temple to open on Saturday.This is to have the member stay at home and prepare for the typhoon Yolanda projected to cross Cebu island. Scheduled  temple trips of members from nearby islands and Mindanao were already advised to  reschedule.

The Temple Employees and volunteers hosted a boodle fight last October 28 for the departing Patron Housing caretaker service missionaries, Sister and Elder Belleza. The couple will end their mission and leave for New Zealand come November 16 this year.

Apostle Visits Cebu City Phils Temple

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles along with Elders Clayton, of the Seventy Presidency, Pajaro & Perez  held a priesthood meeting with the local leaders at the Stake Center today. Elder Andersen, brings the love and concerns of the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson over the people in Bohol and the members affected by the earthquake. The instruction on local leaders to help and assist the members was his call. Leaders were spiritually recharged on the messages and instructions given by them.

Helping Hands for Bohol Quake Victims

The Temple Complex Stake Center was abuzz today as members wearing the all familiar yellow Helping Hands vests are in service mode. They are repacking thousands of goods for the Bohol earthquake victims. The repacking of items intended for the quake victims is simultaneously done in other Stake Centers in the Cebu Province.

In an email to employees , local leaders and Mission Presidents of Cebu & Cebu East, the Temple Recorder reported of the structural soundness of all buildings in the complex. This is after the visit and thorough inspection done by a Structural Engineer along with the Engineering staff.

Temple Opens Day after Earthquake

The Cebu City Philippines Temple opens today after it closed yesterday due to the earthquake.
Subsequent check by Engineers find the Temple and the Complex alright to resume operation. Noticeably though, looking on top the temple, one can't miss to see that Angel Moroni is now facing South due to the intensity of the quake.

Everyone in the Temple and the Complex is safe and accounted.

Cebu City Philippines Temple will be closed tomorrow , Saturday, October 12.
This is to allow members to participate with the nationwide rebroadcast viewing of the 183rd Semi Annual General Conference in the respective units.

Poe mentions Church at Senate Hearing

The Church was mentioned during a live televised senate hearing today at the Senate Hall of the Philippines regarding the Freedom of Information Bill.
Major news agencies personalities and a blogger were asked to made presentations voicing their support of the measure during the hearing.
Senator Grace Poe ,chair of the Public Information Committee remarked on the sad state and bad archiving system  of the country’s records.
She then said how the records of her  late father , the late former presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr was  nowhere to be found. His  citizenship  was made an issue in the filing of  a disqualification case during his candidacy. She then recall how his father’s records were obtained  the “Mormons” “ at the Mormon Temple”. The Supreme Court voted 8-5 with one abstention on his favor  declaring him a natural born citizen and qualified to run by the Supreme Court .

Youths CleanUp Historic Mactan Beach

Mandaue Phils Stake flocked to an early morning activity on the historic beach of Mactan Island where the Battle of Mactan is being re enacted yearly this time of year. About 200 members from the Eight wards comprising the Stake came to walk through the stretch of the beach cleaning it from trash and non biodegradable materials. The youth have fun time together during the activity, knowing that the following day they will be meeting again to have their Stake Temple Youth Activity.

Invitation extended and challenge issued to all Single Adults to settle with their lives by not delaying their Temple marriage. The wisdom in obeying to this call by the Church leaders is well said during a live Area broadcast. Temple marriages this year should be higher than the previous year as more worthy SA's put their trust and exercise faith as they pursue their path to exaltation.

Apology

Sometimes it just get tiresome when after much hardwork and somehow you know that you did nothing wrong, things just messed up. That's how the feeling of this writer after finding out that the last post did not go right when publish. The template layout went awry. Did somebody hacked it to make the appearance like that, that i am not sure. My apology though...got to learn html more to correct this and keep the blog running and updated.
